Termina la temporada 2023-2024 y, como es costumbre, en la Galería Artizar nos gusta hacer un repaso de lo más destacado en ese periodo y adelantar algunos de los proyectos que vendrán en el próximo. Dejamos atrás una temporada nuevamente marcada por la presencia en importantes ferias internacionales y con claro énfasis en exposiciones de artistas de las Islas Canarias en nuestra galería de La Laguna.

En septiembre abríamos con la individual de Ubay Murillo (Tenerife, 1978). Poco después pudimos disfrutar de una nueva edición del programa Conexiones de Artizar, que en esta ocasión se celebró en la ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, un programe en el que invitamos a coleccionistas y agentes artísticos de todo el país para visitar los estudios de artistas con los que trabajamos y conectarnos entre todos para ampliar el tejido que nace desde nuestro espacio en Tenerife y cada año se amplía más y más.

Muy seguido tuvimos una nueva participación en la feria Estampa de Madrid, escaparate clave para la difusión de los artistas a los que representamos.

Ya en noviembre se presentó una exposición dual de las jóvenes artistas Luna Bengoechea (Gran Canaria, 1984) y Esther Elena Pea (Tenerife, 1994), que hilaron a la perfección sus obras para dar lugar a una destacada muestra.

Para cerrar el año y dar paso al siguiente contamos con un nuevo proyecto individual de los artistas Martín y Sicilia (Tenerife, 1971 y Tenerife, 1974). Un proyecto que aportó varias novedades a su carrera artística, como fue la presentación del videojuego Cromaterra o las acuarelas que tan buena acogida recibieron.

También en diciembre tuvimos nuestra segunda participación en la feria de arte Pinta de Miami, ciudad que ya es un aspecto clave en el propio funcionamiento de nuestra galería.

Y en febrero volvimos al centro Citibanamex de Ciudad de México pues por segundo año consecutivo estábamos en la feria de arte Zona Maco, la más importante de Latinoamérica.

Luis Palmero (Tenerife, 1957) volvió a llenar los espacios de Artizar con sus trabajos más recientes, esos que tanto aprecia nuestro círculo y que vuelven a retomar su incursión a nivel nacional, tanto con coleccionistas como con una colaboración con la galería Artnueve de Murcia.

Entre exposición y exposición nos dimos cita en la feria de arte Expo Chicago, una plaza que cada año refrenda con más fuerza el proyecto de nuestra galería y que tan buenos resultados nos está dando.

Y a la vuelta de Estados Unidos tuvimos el enorme placer de inaugurar exposición individual de Carlos Nicanor (Gran Canaria, 194) siete años después de la última que realizó para Artizar. Una muestra que se realizaba en colaboración con la galería Panamerican Art Project de Miami, pues dicha galería hacía oficial la representación del escultor canario unos meses antes.

Y tras un nuevo paso por Artesantander en el que la obra de Alejandro Correa (Tenerife, 1984) obtuvo un rotundo éxito, se iniciaba la exposición individual de la artista Paula Valdeón (Badajoz, 1992), primera que realiza con Artizar y que marcará, sin duda, el inicio de una larga colaboración.

Con todo esto atrás cerramos temporada y volveremos en septiembre, concretamente el viernes 6 con la exposición de la gran Pamen Pereira (Ferrol, 1963), seguida de Laura Mesa (Tenerife, 1975) y el retorno de Elena Galarza (Tenerife, 1966) a la escena artística canaria con una nueva exposición individual.

Y para empezar el año 2025, Hans Lemmen (Venlo, 1959) y Dave McKean (Maidenhead, 1963).

Todo esto sumado a ferias, Conexiones III y otros muchos proyectos que ya adelantaremos.

Esperamos que esto ayude a que sigan apoyándonos y respondiendo como hasta ahora al trabajo que tanto nos gusta hacer.

The 2023-2024 season comes to an end, and as usual, at Galería Artizar we like to review the highlights of this period and preview some of the projects that will come in the next one.

We leave behind a season once again marked by our presence at important international fairs and with a clear emphasis on exhibitions by artists from the Canary Islands at our gallery in La Laguna.

In September, we opened with a solo exhibition by Ubay Murillo (Tenerife, 1978). Shortly after, we enjoyed a new edition of the Artizar Conexiones program, which on this occasion was held in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a program in which we invited collectors and art agents from across the country to visit the studios of the artists we work with and connect with each other to expand the network that originates from our space in Tenerife and grows more and more each year.

Soon after, we participated again in the Estampa fair in Madrid, a key showcase for the dissemination of the artists we represent.

In November, there was a dual exhibition by the young artists Luna Bengoechea (Gran Canaria, 1984) and Esther Elena Pea (Tenerife, 1994), who perfectly intertwined their works to create a remarkable show.

To close the year and transition into the next, we presented a new solo project by the artists Martín y Sicilia (Tenerife, 1971 and Tenerife, 1974). This project introduced several new elements to their artistic careers, such as the presentation of the video game Cromaterra and the watercolors that were very well received.

Also in December, we had our second participation in the Pinta art fair in Miami, a city that is now a key aspect of our gallery’s operations. And in February, we returned to the Citibanamex center in Mexico City for the second year in a row as we participated in the Zona Maco art fair, the most important in Latin America.

Luis Palmero (Tenerife, 1957) once again filled the Artizar spaces with his most recent works, which are greatly appreciated by our circle and which are once again making their mark on the national scene, both with collectors and through a collaboration with the Artnueve gallery in Murcia.

Between exhibitions, we attended the Expo Chicago art fair, a venue that every year strongly supports our gallery’s project and is bringing us great results.

And upon our return from the United States, we had the immense pleasure of inaugurating a solo exhibition by Carlos Nicanor (Gran Canaria, 1974), seven years after his last one at Artizar. This exhibition was held in collaboration with the Panamerican Art Project gallery in Miami, as this gallery officially began representing the Canarian sculptor a few months prior.

After another successful participation in Artesantander, where Alejandro Correa’s (Tenerife, 1984) work achieved resounding success, we began the solo exhibition of artist Paula Valdeón (Badajoz, 1992), her first with Artizar, which will undoubtedly mark the beginning of a long collaboration.

With all this behind us, we close the season and will return in September, specifically on Friday the 6th, with the exhibition by the great Pamen Pereira (Ferrol, 1963), followed by Laura Mesa (Tenerife, 1975) and the return of Elena Galarza (Tenerife, 1966) to the Canary Islands art scene with a new solo exhibition.
